Shashauna Szczechowicz specializes in surety defense and construction litigation. Ms. Szczechowicz's experience includes representing the interests of insurance companies in complex construction issues involving public and private construction projects. Ms. Szczechowicz also possesses experience in bankruptcy. She has achieved successful results for her work in bankruptcy cases involving the surety's priority right to recover contract balances and prosecuting affirmative claims in various bankruptcy courts.

Ms. Szczechowicz completed her undergraduate degrees at Florida State University, earning a Bachelors of Arts degree in Criminology in 1996 and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 2002. Ms. Szczechowicz earned her Juris Doctor from Loyola University in New Orleans, Louisiana in 2003. At Loyola, Ms. Szczechowicz was a member of the Loyola Law Review. While studying at Loyola, she also served as an extern for the Honorable Carl J. Barbier at the United States District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana.

Ms. Szczechowicz was admitted to the State Bar of Louisiana in 2003 and to the State Bar of California in 2006.
