Amy K. Thomas, a partner at Wolkin Curran, specializes in insurance coverage, suretyship and construction law. Ms. Thomas has extensive experience in pre-litigation analysis of claims and disputes, the preparation and argument of pretrial motions, document discovery, the deposition of percipient and expert witnesses, and both informal negotiation and mediation. Ms. Thomas served as the second-chair attorney for a multi-party, five-month arbitration hearing involving surety and construction claims, and has achieved favorable resolutions to numerous litigated insurance coverage and surety disputes. Like her fellow attorneys at Wolkin Curran, Ms. Thomas takes pride in efficiently and aggressively evaluating claims, and working towards a prompt and cost-effective means of resolution. Ms. Thomas is admitted to all California courts, including the United States Districts Courts for the Northern, Central and Southern Districts, as well as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Court of Federal Claims. Ms. Thomas is also admitted to all Nevada State and Federal courts.

Following three years of service in the U.S. Army, Ms. Thomas received her undergraduate degree from San Francisco State University, magna cum laude, and a Juris Doctor degree from University of California Hastings College of the Law in 1999. During her legal studies, Ms. Thomas served as Senior Articles Editor for Hastings Communications and Entertainment Law Journal, representative of the ABA’s Law Student Division, and the student representative to the College’s Curriculum Committee. She also served as an extern for the Hon. David Garcia, San Francisco County Superior Court. Ms. Thomas received the Hastings Student Leadership Award in 1999, and continued to serve her alma mater as a member of Hastings’ Board of Governors, from 2001 to 2004.
